2090s America, torn apart by war and corporate greed. A lone traveller stands outside the gates of Cincinnati, greatest of the border cities. How far will you go to make it to the top? How far will you go to fulfil your mission?

Listen in You only catch the tail end of their conversation. “So how was your trip to France, man? Paris, right? You been back a week and you’ve not told me squat.” “Oh yeah. It was good. Can’t give you any details, you know how that goes. But we got it done, got out, got paid.” “Amen to that.” “I gotta say though…” “Yeah?” “Everything over there… it’s the old world. Shit ain’t perfect, but they didn’t have no civil war like we did. There’s rough spots, but the whole city’s like a PZ. Makes what we’ve got here look like… like there was a fucking apocalypse or some shit, you know? They call us part of the Third World now.” “Damn… but I can see it. I almost wish there had been an apocalypse. A clean slate, instead of this slow slide we’ve been in for what… decades?” “Yeah… I hear that.” And yeah, you heard it too. Or overheard it. No apocalypse. No global catastrophe. No hard reset on civilisation. Parts of what used to be the USA – the parts you’ve just come from – could almost make you think it, but it just ain’t so. It’s just been a slow, slow slide.
