Your wheels, of whatever kind.
How to Acquire Vehicles
There are several ways to get a new vehicle in the game.
Buying Vehicles
There are two main places to buy vehicles: the Cinci Bordertown and the Cinci Dump.
- The Cinci Bordertown: Vehicles here are less consistently available and the selection is more limited, but they are usually somewhat cheaper. Flatbed Trucks are a good example of a useful vehicle that can often be purchased cheaply here.
- The Cinci Dump: The Used Cars dealer has a larger variety of vehicles, but the stock changes daily. You can spend Credits to get permanent access to his full inventory at a discount.
Vehicles are generally expensive, ranging from $325 for the cheapest Dirt Bike to around $11,000 for a top-of-the-line SUV.
Receiving Vehicles
If you progress far enough in the main story mission, you will eventually be given a vehicle as a reward.
Understanding Vehicle Stats
Vehicles have a lot of ratings. The most important ones are cost, Skill/Driving modifiers, Passengers, fuel type and consumption, and Transport Capacity.
Driving Modifiers
Some vehicles are more difficult to drive, resulting in a negative modifier to your Skill/Driving. Spikes and certain clothing can give bonuses to improve your character's effective skill.
Passengers
Every vehicle can carry at least 1 passenger, but some jobs may require a vehicle that can carry more people.
Fuel Type and Consumption
Vehicles can use either Ethanol Fuel (Biofuel) or Gasoline Fuel. Most use Ethanol. Per unit of fuel, Gasoline is generally twice as expensive as Ethanol. Every time you use a vehicle, you will consume its "Fuel useage" rating in the appropriate fuel type. As a rule, fuel consumption and transport capacity are inversely related.
- Example 1: A dirt bike is very fuel-efficient but doesn't carry much.
- Example 2: An SUV with high consumption can cost around $70 just to park after driving.
Transport Capacity
This determines how much cargo a vehicle can carry. A Transport Capacity of 10 is required to buy certain heavy loads, such as Organic Waste at the Incinerator. In addition to your vehicle's capacity, you have 10 Transport Capacity for every Logistics Team you have assigned to a location.
How to Use Vehicles
Equipping and Parking
You can equip any vehicle you own (that is not assigned to a Logistics Team) at any location where you have a Living space by selecting it in the "Equipment" tab. When a vehicle is equipped, a "Driving" card will be pinned to your current location. The vehicle is locked and cannot be unequipped until you select the "Driving" card and choose to park, which always consumes 1 unit of the vehicle's fuel. Parking a vehicle will often modestly improve your Personal Security.
Calling Your Crew
If you are not at a place with a Living Space, you can call someone from your Crew to either deliver a vehicle to you or take one away. Be aware that it may take a few card plays for them to arrive, and they may burn extra fuel in the process.
